Valcontin 200

Valcontin 200 MG Tablet is an anticonvulsant medication that is used alone or in combination with other medicines for the treatment of certain types of epilepsies, a brain disorder characterized by uncontrolled jerking movements and loss of consciousness. It is also used in the treatment of mania which is a mental disorder characterized by hyperactivity and racing thoughts. This medicine is used to prevent migraine headaches characterized by severe headache, eye pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Composition

  • Each flim-coated tablet contains Sodium Valproate BP : 133.5 mg Valporic Acid USP : 58 mg (Both together correspond to sodium valproate 200 mg in a controlled release system)

Indication

  • In the treatment of generalized seizures,notably tonic-clonic,absence and myoclonic seizures and also for partial seizures (simple and complex).

Dosage

  • As directed by the physicians. It is to be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed.
